Home at Last

Jane threw away the drink can from which she had hardly drunk, giving it an angry kick which made the contents spill on the pavement. How she hated the stuff! Yet being so close to school she had to be seen with the distinctive a can in her hand, which was the trademark which classified her as one of the tough Year 10 group of the local High School: the ones who prided themselves in getting trough their education with the least amount of work and the largest amount of trouble to teachers and other students. After all they had to keep up with their image as the students who were different, the ones without real families; the kids from the FOSTER HOMES.

Jane smiled to herself as she looked at the can on the ground, she had to keep up the pretence; it was much better than trying to explain that finally she was one of the few lucky ones who was happy with her new family. First she would not have been believed and secondly, it could have stirred resentment towards her. This she wanted to avoid at all costs: she had had enough of it in her young life. What she would have loved at this moment, was a cup of black tea with two teaspoons of sugar and a slice of lemon.

The thought of the hot beverage for some unknown reason brought back memories of the time she had been introduced to the hot beverages. The times that she thought she had successfully put out of her mind since coming to Wattle-creek. But this was not to be it, in an instant all the unhappy memories of her life before she had been taken in by Sam and Mary Collins came back like a raging river dragging her down with its strong currents. In this force she had no hope of escaping the torturous visions and feelings that she wanted so much to escape and forget.

In the window of her mind, Jane saw herself propped up with pillows in sick bay holding the hot sweet tea tightly in her hands. She had been taken there after almost passing out in class. After intensive questioning, the nurse had learned that she had been in a fight with Tom, one of her foster brothers who delighted in tormenting her. As always, she had fought like a wild cat, punching and scratching without any concern for herself. Her tormentor had lost, but this time not badly enough.

When she had turned her back to him to walk away, he had grabbed a mug and smashed it on her head. Jane had almost lost her balance, but her incredible tenacity and strength had come to her aide. She had grabbed the handle of the door and had stood there for a few seconds until she had regained her balance, then turning around slowly she had looked fixedly at her foster brother

'This is the very last time you will ever touch or hurt me. If you do, you will live to regret it.'

With this, Jane walked out of the room. She knew there were going to be repercussions, but she had reached the point where she no longer cared. All she wanted was for the next twelve months to pass as quickly as possible. Slowly she walked into her bedroom which she shared with two other foster sisters. Thankfully the room was empty, she could lie down and rest she did not have much to do with either of and the last thing she wanted was for them to know she was hurt

Unfortunately the next morning the head ache was no better but it was no use saying to the foster mother that she could not go to school; the only way she could stay in bed was if she was running a very high temperature. A lump on the head as big as an egg and a massive headache were no reason to stay home. Jane could still hear the cold harsh voice of her foster mother

'Serve you right for getting hurt. You should not pick on Tom. All he wanted was some help with his math. You should not have made fun of him because he's not as good as you. I would have reacted the same way.'

Jane had not bothered to give her side of the story, she would not have been believed. With a resigned sign she turned on her heels and went into her room. The next morning taking care not to move her head too much she managed to get herself to school but once in class all the strength she had managed to muster finally left her and she collapsed on the floor.

Sitting up in bed, alone in Sick Bay with the hot refreshing drink clasped tightly in her trembling hands, the tears had come, slowly at first then faster, to the point where she had begun to sob uncontrollably. It was not only the pain that was making her cry but most of all the loneliness. The cold treatment that she received from the people she lived with. Like all other times, she had covered her head with the blanket so as to stifle her sobs with her fist; there was no one who cared, no one to soothe her pain...

The recollection of the painful episode slowly dissipated and once again Jane was catapulted to the present. With clouded eyes she saw that the can had rolled into the gutter spilling its contents on the pavement, leaving behind a trail of liquid resembling a twisted road with endings which lead nowhere.

Jane stood there unable to take her eyes away as if hypnotised and while she was staring, the main vain of liquid seemed to grow wider and longer stopping to finally form a deformed round shaped pool with two white bubbles resembling the shapes of eyes. At the same time the twisted little roads had become tentacles like hair which were pulsating, giving the impression that the head of Medusa was coming to life. At the same time Jane jumped back in terror and with a strangled cry. Turning her back she ran towards the bus terrified that the horrible face was following her. Breathlessly but thankful at the same time she quickly jumped into the waiting transport, showed her travel pass and sat behind the driver, today was not the day to sit at the back with the other students; the hallucination had left her unsettled. What did it all mean? Was she losing her mind? Had she suffered brain damage from the knock on her head she had received the previous year?

As Jane relaxed back in her seat she relived the incident which was still vivid in her mind. At the same time she tried to convince herself that there was nothing wrong with her, what had happened was only her imagination running out of control because she hated the drink?

But had it only been her imagination? She was sure she had seen a face with two white eyes. Was the vision meant to tell her that she was cursed? Was, this the reason her parents had rejected her at birth? She had read that many animals did in fact reject some of their young ones because there was something wrong with the newborn. But as far as she could see there was nothing wrong with her, except her violent temper when she could see injustice being committed.

As these thoughts kept running through her mind a sigh escaped her lips; she would never know, so she might as well stop worrying. With this resolution she put the incident and painful past events out of her mind and concentrated on the pleasure of getting home. Another half hour and she would be with her new foster family, Mary, Sam and the children, just thinking of them brought a smile to her lips. What a shame that school was on the opposite side from where they lived, it would have been so nice to have been closer to home.

As the bus meandered through the streets of the town to drop off passengers, Jane took the time to savour the pleasure of what awaited her at the end of the ride. She loved living with the Collins, the seven children and Edna the cook, Cookie, as she was affectionately known who played at pretending to be angry while chasing Jane and the children away with the wooden spoon from the freshly baked cakes, which were always left unattended. The two other people in the family were Myrtle and John, the elderly couple who helped Mary and Sam look after the entire brood; yes, this time she had been very lucky. But was this luck going to last or was something nasty lurking in the shadows to make her life once again a misery? Was the hallucination with the Coke can a premonition of things to come?

Until she had come to Wattle Creek, her life had been a progression of one foster home after another. No one knew what to do or how to control a rebellious and uncontrollable child, who screamed, cried and destroyed anything she could lay her hands on. When there was nothing to grab, she tore her clothes and pulled her hair; often self harming herself. Initially the social workers in charge of her case and the foster parents had attempted to find out what it was that turned this child into an uncontrollable maniac, but no matter what they tried, nothing had worked. Eventually her case had been put in the hard basket and the problem had been solved by shunting her from one family to another.

Had observers been able to read into the child's mind, they would have heard that while her her temper was raging the words of the social were beating relentlessly like a mournful chant into her brain.

'Well Jane as you will soon be turning ten and according to regulations it is time that you are told a few things about yourself.

First of all you are not an orphan. You have a family, except that when you were born your parents decided to place you into foster care as they already had five other children. Being on a support pension they justified their decision that the extra mouth to feed would have been too much. Unfortunately for you, when giving you up, your parents placed the condition that you cannot be adopted out.

The social worker had continued in her monotone voice, but Jane had stopped listening, she understood what was being said, everything was clear now. No wonder, when prospective parents had been brought to the house to look at children up for adoption, she had been immediately singled out with a firm 'cannot be adopted out'

These words had remained branded in Jane's memory in the same way cattle are branded with burning irons. Up to that very day she had been convinced that she had not been adopted out because there was something different about her. As the years passed she had became reconciled to the fact that she would always remain an orphan: that was until her tenth birthday. On this eventful day the quiet and affectionate child suddenly became rebellious for no apparent reason: these episodes became a regular part of her behaviour. From that day it had been a new foster home after another. Once again the inevitable change to a new foster home came after the fight with Nick, but unlike previous times, this time there was an ultimatum. If she did not behave herself her next place was going to be a government run home.

The last chance for Jane was with a family who already had seven other children, of which she was going to be the eldest. The family lived in Wattle-creek, a coastal town five hundred kilometres away from where she was now. The dry voice of the official had returned.

'Please go and pack your things Jane, the train leaves in an hour. I hope you realize that this is your last chance to be to be part of a family. Next time you will be placed in a Home.

Mary and Sam have no children of their own, and this is the reason they have become foster parents: they could not love the children more if they were their own. Every child placed under their care has progressed magnificently............'

At this point a sigh had escaped the lips of the official.

'Let's hope that the same will happen to you before you turn sixteen and no longer under the state system. The way you are now, not even your parents would want you. You can consider yourself very lucky that the Collins have agreed to take you on.

Jane had taken the news silently, she was used to hearing these words every time she moved in with a new family, but this time it did not matter because one fact had seemed to have been forgotten by the social worker; in twelve month time she was going to be sixteen. This meant that very soon she was going to be free; no longer a ward of the state. Finally she would be able to go wherever she wanted, definitely not back to her natural parents who had rejected her. No more, having to listen to social workers, to be told what to do and living with people who did not want her. With a defiant look in her eyes she had turned her back and had walked out of the room to pack her few belongings.

The train journey from Rose Town to Wattle Creek had been long and tedious, stopping at every station and the time Jane got off at her destination she was exhausted from boredom and stiff from sitting down There had been no one to exchange a few words. Her cheap I.POD had broken down so there was no music. To make matters worse she was ravenous. The little money she had been given had only been enough to buy a pie and an apple, hardly enough to fill a growing teenager for the duration of the long journey.

To take her mind away from her hunger and the uncertainty of the future, Jane had concentrated on the other passengers, trying to work out what type of people they were. She actually enjoyed the game as not only did it make the time pass, but she knew that when people realized they were being watched, most of them started fidgeting in their seats and showing signs of being uncomfortable, she could almost hear their thoughts. 'Why am I being stared at? Is there something wrong with me? Ha, young people, always up to no good. Wonder where she is going all by herself? The ones who would try and hold her gaze soon gave up looking somewhat embarrassed: Jane was very good at this game. Many times people had even moved seats. But no such thing this time, the train was packed.

As Jane stood on the platform at Wattle-creek, she looked around to see if anyone had come to meet her, she felt a bit apprehensive, it was late afternoon and she did not have the address. Had they forgotten that she was coming? Was there really a family called Mr and Mrs Collins or had she been put on a train with no money so as to get rid of her once and for all?

She looked at the few remaining people but they were all ingrossed with their luggage and very soon left, leaving her alone. With a nervousness she had never felt before, she wondered what to do next, even the station master had left as her train had been the last one for the day.

As Jane lowered her hand to pick up her small suitcase she felt a heavy hand on her shoulder. She literally jumped with fright but at the same time her fist was already clenched tightly to swing a punch to whoever had touched her. A friendly and deep laugh with lightening speed caught her wrist

'Now, now Jane, this is not the way to meet your new father. Sorry I was late but had to stop at the pharmacy before it closed. Had to pick up some new baby's formula; with three of them we need more than the average family.

Without waiting for a reply he picked up suitcase and backpack and walked briskly out of the station without turning to see if Jane was following.

Jane was left speechless. Even her angry retort had evaporated into nothingness: this Mr Collins was the strangest man she had ever met. His tone had been casual but friendly at the same time. When she had looked into his eyes all she had seen was kindness. His words had been as soft as a caress, while at the same time very firm. Looking at him from behind he appeared as large as a mountain; tall and wide, big enough to probably intimidate even a wrestler. Jane practically had to run to keep up with his long strides...

When they finally reached the car another surprise awaited her. Instead of opening the driver' seat, he first opened the front passenger door holding it for her to get in. Jane looked in disbelief: no one had ever done such a thing for her before.

Still without saying a word he made sure she was belted in safely, packed her luggage in the back seat and finally settled himself at the steering wheel switching on the engine that came to life like a purring kitten.

'I don't think the car would dare give him any trouble'

Jane thought to herself. Without a backward glance, as if instinctively she was leaving her old life behind, she settled down curious to meet the rest of the family.

It was not until they had hit the main road that Sam Collins spoke again.

'Everyone at home is looking forward to meeting you. The children have never had an older sister before so I hope you will not disappoint them. Mary is very busy with the baby and the toddlers. That means she can't always give the older ones as much time as she would like. I do what I can but quite often my size gets in the way'

With this he laughed and without realizing it even Jane laughed visualizing this great big man playing hide and seek or bending down to play ball. But she stopped herself short without offering a reply; she wasn't going to fall once again into the trap of liking someone so that she could be hurt again.

She turned her head concentrating on the scenery which was one of the most beautiful she had ever seen.

The picturesque town was situated in a deep valley surrounded by undulating green hills overlooking the ocean. Majestic trees were everywhere and all the houses had enormous gardens that spread out amongst the hills looking down on the town centre with its old but beautifully maintained buildings, churches and gardens. All the streets were lined with wattle trees. A wide river ran through the town giving the whole place the feeling of a painting; whoever had named the town had got it right.

Jane wondered in which part of the town the Collins had their home but to her surprise Sam left the main road and began driving up one of the hills.

As if reading her thoughts, he stopped the car at a parking bay and said softly.

'Go out and look at the bay and your new home, this is the best time of the day to see it and if you look carefully you will see your new family waiting for you at the front door'

As if in a daze, Jane did as she was told. She looked towards where Sam was pointing at and could just make out a large white house on top of the next hill with expansive green lawns. The way it was placed it would have had the most magnificent view of the ocean while the back was surrounded by hills which were cultivated by a very large vineyard

Jane had to catch her breath and call on all her strength to keep the exclamation of surprise and joy that was about to escape from her lips.

Until today she had lived in ordinary houses and often under cramped conditions and always in suburbs. This had to be a dream or a mistake.

'I have been sent to the wrong place and family. Tomorrow there will be a phone call to say there has been a mistake'. With tears stinging her eyes she got into the car and closed the door: she was not even going to unpack.

Instead of starting the motor, Sam placed his big hands on the steering wheel and while looking at his home in the distance he said in a serious tone.

'If you wish you can call me dad like the children do but if you prefer you Sam will be just fine, which is short for Samuel and my wife Mary. We discussed this matter when we were asked if we could take you in. Both Mary and I felt that as you were so much older than the other children you should choose. Now let's go home I will surely get it, for taking so long'

These last words gave Jane back some reassurance that perhaps the last part of her life as an abandoned child was not going to be so bad after all.

'This is where you get off young lady!

Jane was jolted back to reality. Thank goodness the bus driver knew where all his passengers got off. She thanked him, grabbed her school bag and ran out' she still had another ten minutes walk up the hill but she didn't mind this, she actually enjoyed it as it made her homecoming more joyful.

Like that first day Mary and the seven children always waited for her at the front door to welcome her home. That first day, which had happened only eight month ago, was going to remain with Jane for the rest of her life. As she walked up the hill towards the big white house she relived her arrival into her new foster family.

Sam had stopped the car at the front door of the white brick hacienda style home with its arched verandas. Beautiful climbing red and white roses grew around them giving the entrance a feeling of entering a rose palace...

At the front door stood a smiling woman who Jane guessed was Sam's wife Mary. She looked in her late thirties and was nowhere near as tall as her husband. A mass of black curly hair framed a sweet and serene face. In her arms she was holding a child of about ten month. Alongside of her Jane counted six other children. As she looked at them she immediately noticed that each child had some form of disability. What she had thought to have been three strollers were actually wheelchairs but the joyful expression of the children sitting in them waiving their hands, made their shortcomings disappear. Behind them were three other people, two women and a man.

As she approached, the oldest child which she guessed to be about seven wheeled his chair towards her and handed her a bunch of red roses with a pink ribbon.

'These are for you... Welcome to our family Jane'

Slowly all the other children came slowly forward with timid smiles on their little faces and their arms outstretched, as they gathered around her. Without realizing she was even doing it, Jane knelt down and tried to hug them all at once. Never in her life had she been made so welcome and shown love. Each time she had arrived at a new foster home she had been met at the door by her new foster mother the rules of the house even before she had stepped into the front door. After showing her to the shared bedroom she walked away to continue her endless chores: never a smile or a genuine word of welcome from her or anyone else in the family; not until today.

When Jane finally stood up she looked up towards Sam and Mary, she wanted to put her arms around them both, but all she could do was look at them; with tears streaming down her face and mumble,

'Thank you for taking me'

As Jane approached the house she noticed a red car in front of the house. She did not recognize it as belonging to any of their friends which meant that someone she did not know was visiting. A sudden thought made her freeze on the spot. Was someone interested in one of the younger children? Even if they had a disability someone might have come to look at them? Jane ran the last one hundred metres to the front door. Thank goodness, all the children were there waiting for her

'Ha good, they are not being looked over' she thought with a sigh of relief.

Cathy, the six year old grabbed her hand pulling her inside the house saying

'Jane, we have another little sister, we have another little sister but...'

Not listening to Cathy, Jane rushed through the front door. The moment she did so she heard the cry of a new born baby coming from the back of the house.

Jane and the children moved towards the back of the house where the kitchen and the family room were and immediately saw what could only have been a social worker with a sower looking face talking to Mary, Sam, John and Myrtle: Jane only caught the last words

'.... We just did not know where to place her until a suitable accommodation can be found.'

Since arriving at Wattle Creek Jane had not lost her temper once but the cold words voiced by the official made her see red. In a flash she remembered the spilled can of Coke and instantly she understood the significance. The hideous face of Medusa represented the people who dealt with unwanted children. To the social workers these children were nothing more than a name with a number next to it. Someone who needed to be placed somewhere and forgotten, so they could get on with the next case. The emotional needs of the children were not taken into account. Here, in her haven she had been brought face to face with what represented the worst period in her young life.

Jane was about to lash out but before she could say anything, Sam was at her side. His big arm encircled her shoulders in a tight but gentle grip, he did not utter a single word but his touch calmed her. Gently guiding her towards the baby capsule which held the crying infant, Jane saw a new born whose tiny face showed so much pain.

Without knowing why, she knelt down and placed her hand on the baby's forehead caressing her gently. Instantly the infant stopped screaming, turning her head towards Jane. In doing so she opened her eyes, but in their place there were no eyes as Jane knew, all there were, were two milky white pupils deep into the eye sockets.

Jane felt all the adults staring at her as if expecting a reaction but none came. Slowly she undid the safety strap, lifted her from the capsule and cradling her tenderly in her arms. As if by magic the child stopped crying and nestled even closer to Jane. The social worker gasped in surprise.

'Well I never? This baby has been crying since she was found. If I hadn't seen it myself I would not have believed it.'

Without taking her eyes from the baby, Jane asked in a voice almost as if speaking to herself.

'How old is she? Where does she come from?'

'She was found in a rubbish dumpster twelve days ago by a council worker. One of the men always on the lookout for anything of value was looking at the bins when he heard a strange muffled cry. 'She was only a few hours old and still had the umbilical cord attached to her and the mucus in her mouth. At the hospital the doctors were amazed how she had not choked or bled to death. We believe she was dumped because of her eyes.

When I picked her up this morning I was told that since she was taken to the hospital she has not stopped crying; that is until now. And thank you for taking her in at such short notice.' The social worker concluded in her dry official voice.

At this point, Mary picked up the narration

'This morning at nine fifteen we were notified that there was a baby in need of care. Apparently the first three places she was taken had refused to keep her because of her constant crying, and you know us, always ready to take on challenging cases' concluded Mary with a tender smile which told Jane everything she wanted to hear.

Turning towards the official with a firm and cold tone to her voice Jane calmly said, 'You can leave us now, you are no longer required. This baby is home with her family.

Why Are Camping Showers So Good?

The one thing that puts people off camping most often is the lack of facilities. When you have to go to the toilet in the bush, and stay dirty for days on end it can become uncomfortable. To top it off, without the right equipment to keep you warm and comfortable camping can be a very unenjoyable experience. However, with the right equipment and some solid planning camping can even be luxurious. Of course, its never going to be as easy as staying at home, but you are rewarded with so much more when you enjoy nature.

Camping is made so much better by a very cheap piece of equipment; the camping shower. These range in price and functionality, but you can pick a cheap one up for under 30 dollars. From there, all you need to do is find some fresh water to warm up, and you can have a decent shower. You find a shower in the bush doesn't have to be that good quality to make you feel so much better. Some camping showers are mounted in the engine bay of your vehicle, and the engine heats up the water. These are more expensive, but much better systems.

You can also get portable showers which rely on the sun to heat the water up. This effectively is free energy, which is good when you are camping. Above all though, getting a camping shower is one of the best things that I have done. You need a small pump, the shower rose and a bit of warm water and you will have a good shower. You can pick up the shower tents for under 50 dollars too, so for under a hundred dollars you are well on the way to having a much cleaner and more enjoyable camping trip!

Vinyl Records Budget Box Vinyl

High value records don't always equate to high quality music, surely many collectors have been disappointed when finally getting there hands on a 500 pound holy grail, only to find the music average and uninspiring.

Frequent visitors to record fairs will be aware of the abundance of bargain boxes, "Everything For 1.00 pound ", "Two For A Fiver" and so on. Trawling through boxes of cheap vinyl can often be rewarding, with classic albums of the last 40 years sandwiched between brass bands and budget compilations.

The aim of this exercise is to build a collection of quality albums, music at the top of its genre, groundbreaking, or simply remarkable from start to finish.

In reality the price of some items will vary between fairs and dealers but I have tried to include albums that can be regularly found between 1 pound and 4 pound.

I have steered clear of internet sales because of varying quality and postage costs.

Of course you may disagree with many of my choices and yes music is subjective and a matter of personal taste.

Some albums simply sell time and time again or are highly regarded for there style or musicality and this I have drawn upon in my selection.

Feel free if you wish to replace some of my selections with your own.

Along side each item I have attached a star rating, five for the most abundant and easy to acquire, fewer stars for those items that might take a little longer to track down.

This is an ongoing project my object to compile an extensive library of value vinyl.

So now it is time to begin building your collection.

Box 5. Article Summary

1. Fleetwood Mac 'Rumours' - World wide sales of almost 30 million will guarantee this item turning up at your local fair and almost certainly numerous copies can be found in bargain boxes throughout the nation. Fleetwood Mac's transformation from a classic blues outfit to one of the most successful rock and pop groups of the 70s and 80s is mainly down to this high profile album. Most of us who originally owned this album played both sides relentlessly and then grew tired with over exposure. But with thirty years behind it the album with its strong collective of song writing and musicianship guarantees nearly everyone's return. *****

Comments - Songbird covered by various artists. The Chain Grand Prix music. A version on white vinyl exists.

Other albums by this artist / group: Tango in the night, Tusk

2. Roxy Music 'For Your Pleasure' - Roxy Music's second album with its eclectic mix of musicians and broad musical influence is often lorded by lovers of progressive rock. This view is probably confirmed by the presence of the glorious nine minute romp "Bogus Man". The often strange combination of Brian Ferry's fifties throwback warbling and Eno's modernistic sensibility created a unique sound If you are familiar with Roxy Music through there commercial success of such albums as Avalon, this is a significantly darker and more challenging experience. ***
Comments -"Every Dream Home a Heartache" is the only track I am aware of that tells the tale of an inflatable sex doll.

First issues of this album on the pink rimmed Island label with the original laminated gatefold sleeve go for around 15 pounds but you can regularly come across later issues for much less.

Other albums by this artist / group - Roxy Music, Country Life, Stranded, Siren, Flesh And Blood, Avalon. All of the Roxy Music albums can be found regularly within the budget box price range.

3. U2 'Unforgettable Fire' - U2 vinyl albums are abundant but I have chosen " The Unforgettable Fire" to go onto our list. With their new production team Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois the band might have some of the edge present on previous albums but the carefully crafted songs on this album have made this a favorite for many of there loyal fans. The album is chock full of classic tracks such as Bad, Wire, Pride, A Sort Of Homecoming and the title track. Vinyl issues of this album come in a quality textured sleeve and clean copies can be found for no more than a few pounds. *****

Comments - Lots of copies of this item turn up so be patient and get yourself a nice clean copy.

Other albums by this artist / group: Boy, Joshua Tree, War. October Under a Blood Red Sky. There are many U2 collectables and there later albums which sold in smaller numbers on vinyl are generally out of our budget price. But the earlier aforementioned classic albums are regularly accessible within our budget.

4. Ultravox 'Vienna' - One of the albums that defines the 80s new romantic era. After the departure of John Foxx, Ultravox must have felt insecure about there future instead with there new singer Midge Ure they created one of the defining songs of the 80s, Vienna. This album because of its commonality is often passed over, the public often forgetting Vienna is now nearly 30 years old and a landmark album. *****

Comments - A perfect starting point for your New Romantic collection.

Other albums by this artist / group: Quartet, Monument, Rage in Eden.

5. Lloyd Cole 'Rattlesnakes' - Coles Debut album was successful on release and gained in stature as a highly regarded exercise in singer songwriting. Intelligent lyrics and a classic folky background have assured this album has a longevity which many of its counterparts have failed to achieve. ***

Comments - Often overlooked as just another commercial pop record of the eighties this album offers much more.

Other albums by this artist / group: Easy Pieces.

6. Kate Bush 'Hounds Of Love' - It was a toss up between "A Kick Inside" and my chosen album by this highly individual artist and although her debut album has 'Wuthering Heights', one of those few records which seemed entirely unique yet achieved remarkable chart success, it is the beautiful atmosphere of "The Hounds Of Love" which by a small edge led me to choose this album. 'Running up That Hill' is probably the most well known track from the record but 'Cloudbusting' for me embodies the sentiment of the album. ****

Comments - Bushes long awaited 2005 album Ariel was also released as a quality vinyl package.

Other albums by this artist / group: Kick Inside, Never For Ever, Lion Heart, Dreaming. All these albums can be found for 3 pounds and under.

7. ZZ Top' Eliminator' - The fans who had followed them from the early blues orientated days might see this album as the bands point of sell out but you cannot ignore the impact this album had particularly on the MTV generation. In 1983 it was almost impossible to turn on your television without been confronted by the supped up dragster that fills the front cover of the album. "Gimme All your lovin', Legs and Sharp Dressed Man" were all massive hits with there often raunchy videos. *****

Comments - This album has great art work and because of its enormous sales can easily be purchased for a 1 pound. There early albums on the London label usually sell for around 15 pounds but you can pick up much cheaper reissues. 'Afteburner' the follow up to Eliminator can also be found at 1 pound or just over.

Other albums by this artist / group: Afterburner

8. Eagles 'Hotel California' - The Eagles are one of those bands because of there enormous album sales provide great value for money on vinyl. Hotel California is the Eagles most commercially successful album moving in a more rock orientated direction than its previous counterparts. The title track has one of the greatest and most widely recognized solos in music history, drawing the track out to about seven minutes. ****

Comments - A very strong consistent album throughout. The early albums are finely crafted country rock influenced by such artists as Gram Parsons or the Byrds. All of these albums can be found for a few pounds.

Other albums by this artist / group - Eagles, Desperado, One Of These Nights.

9. Jon And Vangelis 'Friends Of Mr. Cairo' - Jon Andersons ethereal vocals and Vangelis's rich textures compliment beautifully. The album begins with two finely crafted pop songs "Find My Way Home" and State Of Independence", but it is the extended title track an homage to the classic film era which holds the albums real magic. ***

Comments - Background projector sounds and the voice of Peter Lorry add to the wonderful atmosphere of this album.

Other albums by this Artists / group: Private Collection.

10. Police 'Reggatta De Blanc' - This album stayed in the top 100 for more than a year so no problem acquiring a copy. Its longevity not surprising when you ponder its superb track listing "Message in a Bottle", Walking On The Moon", "The Beds To Big Without You" all with the reggae undertones which would become the bands trademark. *****

Comments - Lots of colour vinyl picture sleeve singles by the Police can be found for as little as 50p.

Other albums by this artist / group: Outlandos D'Amour, Zenyatta Mondatta, Ghost In The Machine, Synchronicity. You can confidently pick up originals of the first five please albums for under a tenner.

11. Simon & Garfunkel 'Bookends' - CBS's numerous reissues of Simon & Garfunkels's 60s albums give the punter plenty of opportunity to pick up there early catalogue for a song. With a rich choice of albums which would meet our criteria I have based my selection simply on personal preference. For me Bookends although only 30 minutes long breaks out of the folky influence of previous albums, explores a wide diversity of styles but manages maintain its continuity. ***

Comments - Reissues on the later Sunburst CBS label can be found with Simon & Garfunkel's entire early back catalogue but you can also find earlier issues on the orange label for a very reasonable price. Original 60s issues with flip back sleeve and textured labels in perfect condition can pass hands for around 30 pounds.

Other albums by this artists / group: Sounds Of Silence, Parsley Sage Rosemary And Thyme, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Wednesday Morning 3am.

12. Bob Seger 'Stranger In Town' - If your passion is for all American artists such as Bruce Springsteen and the Eagles and you appreciate quality song writing then this album will satisfy your needs. "Hollywood Nights" is a suitably rousing track to start proceedings but it is the super ballad" We've Got Tonight" which has become best known and covered by such artist as Kenny Rogers and Ronan Keating. **

Comments - Hollywood Nights was released as a picture sleeve silver vinyl single.

Other albums by this artist / group: Stranger In Town, Against The Wind, Nine Tonight Live.

13. Jean Michel Jarre 'Oxygene' - It's hard to believe this album is over 30 years old, created in the same year as the beginning of the punk revolution and at the tale end of the progressive rock era the album with its long extended instrumental tracks surprisingly achieved stratospheric success. The swirling electronic sounds are different from the mainstream of the period yet the album managed to be accessible to the masses. *****

Comments - HMV released a box set of the album on LP in 1988 limited to 3,300 only this sells for around 15.00 pounds.

Other albums by this artist / group: Equinoxe, Rendez Vous.

14. Dire Straits' Love Over Gold' - Probably not an obvious choice with multi million seller 'Brothers in Arms' and the first album containing guitar anthem 'Sultans of Swing' as strong contenders. But this album contains lots of musicality and thoughtful composition. The album contains Dire Straits longest ever track 'Telegraph Road' and song about the rise and fall of industrialism 'Rock "n" Roll. *****

Comments - The track 'Pivate Investigator' reached number two and was kept off the top slot by Survivor 'Eye of the Tiger'.

Other albums by this artist / group: Dire Straits, Making Movies, Communique, Alchemy, Brothers In Arms. All of these albums can be found for has little as a few pounds.

15. Eric Clapton '461 Ocean Boulevard' - An original copy of Creams Disraeli Gears with its vivid art work and original blend of psychedelic blues rock can fetch up to fifty or sixty pounds. So it seems surprising that Clapton's solo albums don't usually fetch more than a few pounds. "461 Ocean Boulevard" is second solo project is a lot slicker than previous albums and concentrates on his now smooth vocal style. ***

Comments - Most of Claptons 70s and 80s solo albums can be easily found within our budget.

Other albums by this artist: Slowhand, Journeyman, Just One Night, Backless, EC Was Here.

16. Scorpions ' Lovedrive' - There is numerous rock albums available within our budget price most of these tend to be late seventies onwards. As most teenage boys who came across this album I found my self taking an unhealthy interest in its provocative cover. The album strengths are a combination of confident song writing, great guitarists and a very distinctive vocalist in the shape of Klaus Meine. ***

Comments - There is also a twelve inch EP from this album on green vinyl.

Other albums by this artist / group: Blackout, Virgin Killer, Crazy World, Tokyo Tapes. The earlier album Virgin Killer is a little harder to acquire but can be found with persistence.

17. Yes 'Closer To The Edge' - A definitive album of the progressive rock era "Closer To The Edge" for many epitomizes the complex, extended music associated with this genre. As well as Jon Andersons ethereal voice the liberal inclusion of the progressive musician's favorite, the Mellotron gives this album a rich and often beautiful sound. ****

Comments - Although early textured sleeve issues are now becoming collectable, later issues can regularly be found for around 2 pounds.

Other albums by this artist / group: Fragile, The Yes Album, 90125, Relayer Going For The One, Drama, Yes Songs, Yes Shows. Original copies of the first four albums on the plum Atlantic label are considerably more than our budget price but these albums were reissued relentlessly.

18. Stranglers 'Stranglers IV' - Punk related items can be a little harder to pick up below five pounds, but albums like "Stranglers IV" which sold to a broader audience are more easily acquired. Although this album is titled four it is in fact there debut album. A crunching base line, raw vocals mixed with a strong song writing sensibility make this a great choice for your vinyl collection. ***

Comments - The biggest selling and therefore easiest album to acquire by the band is "No More Heroes".

Other albums by this artist / group: No More Heroes, Aural Sculpture, Feline, Black And White. Black White also comes in a White Vinyl edition with a free single this sells for around 15 pounds.

19. Genesis 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' - There are numerous Genesis albums I could include in our collection but I have chosen the "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway", a concept piece that bridges the musicianship of the progressive rock era with the raw energy of the new wave in the shape of Rael, Gabriels Urban antihero. Although other albums are far more representative of the Genesis legacy this epic double LP, for me is a masterpiece of its era. ***

Comments - Genesis are a highly collectible band with there first album "Genesis To Revelation" as a mono copy on the unboxed Decca label selling for up to 500 pounds.

Other albums by this artist / group: Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, Live, A Trick of the Tail, Seconds Out, And Then There Were Three, Wind And Wuthering, Duke, Three Sides Live, Invisible Touch, Duke. The first two Charisma albums are very collectible on the original pink scroll, but endless copies can be found on the later Mad Hatter Label.

20. Blondie 'Parallel Lines' - The bold stripes of "Parallel Lines" art work are instantly recognizable and Debbie Harry's drop dead good looks add to the classic album cover. This vinyl turns up in droves but is a constant seller with a new generation of vinyl enthusiasts. *****
Comments - Even more profuse than Blondie's albums are there 7 inch singles which turn up in abundance.

Other albums by this artist / group: Blondie, Eat to The Beat, Plastic Letters, Auto American, The Hunter.

21. Santana 'Abraxas' - If it's musicianship you desire then Santana are a strong candidate for your vinyl collection. Again with this band there are a number of contenders for this slot, Moonflower is a double album containing high octane live material and studio work such as there superb take of the Zombies classic "She's Not There", but the overriding choice has to be "Abraxas" right from the warm swell of its introduction to its classic cover of "Black Magic Women" this is an album which displays a perfect blend of both musical and commercial success. *****

Comments - If you want to explore Santana'strue musicianship then check out "Caravansarai", Jazz sensibility, swirling percussion, warm strings and of course Carlos's emotionally charged guitar combine for a truly exceptional musical journey.

Other Albums By This artist / group: Santana, Santana II, Santana III, Welcome, Borbaletta, Moonflower, Amigo, Festival, Inner Secrets, Zebop. Marathon.

22. Elton John 'Tumble Weed Connection' - Elton John is an international music star with an extensive back catalogue. The early DJM albums are both strong and consistent and were often packaged with booklets, posters and textured sleeves. My own personal Elton favorite is "Tumbleweed Connection". The music influenced by the American West follows in the footsteps of such albums as Dylans "John Wesley Harding" and although not exactly a concept album rewards best when played in its entirety. ****

Comments - It's all so worth pointing out that earlier issues when held up to the light have a red wax glow.

Other albums by this artist / group: Goodbye Yellow Big Road, Madman Across The Water, Honky Chateau, Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy, Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player, Caribou, Rock Of The Westies, Blue Movies.

23. Talking Heads 'Remain In Light' - Yet another wonderful LP produced by Brian Eno and although the group were previously known for there punk sensibility this album is filled with highly danceable funk orientated rhythms. Probably the most well known track from this album is "Once In A Lifetime" with it's ultra catchy chorus. ***

Comments - "Little Creatures" is the album which gave the Heads there real commercial success so therefore is probably the easiest to acquire.

Other albums by this artist / group: Speaking In Tongues, Fear Of Music, Little Creatures, Talking Heads 77, The Name Of The Band Is The talking Heads, True Stories, More Songs About Buildings And Food, Stop Making Sense, Naked.

24. Bad Company 'Bad Company' - Signed to Led Zeppelins Swan Song label this super group made up of ex members from Free, Mott The Hoople and King Crimson produced a superb debut album. Classic blues tinged rock including the immensely catchy "Can't Get Enough of Your Love". ***

Comments - The "Straight Shooter" album produced Bad Co's most radio friendly offering in the shape of the power ballad "Feel Like Making Love".

Other albums by this artist / group: Straight Shooter, Run With The Pack, Desolation Angels, Burning Sky, 10 From 6, Rough Diamonds.

25. Marrillion 'Misplaced Childhood' - Marrillion were at the forefront of the miniature progressive rock revival in the 1980s and although influenced by early Genesis developed a distinctive poetic style of there own. This album contains there most successful and well known song "Kayleigh" but is much more than a one single album with a continuous sweet which takes up nearly three quarters of the LP. *****

Comments - Although "Misplaced Childhood" is there most commercially successful album Marrillion fans often site "Fugazi" as the bands finest moment.

Other albums by this artist / group: Scrip For A Jesters Tear, Fugazi,Clutching At Straws, The Thieving Magpie, Reel To Reel.

26. Human League 'Dare' - Although the band had been around at the beginning of the new generation of electronic music, it was the introduction of two female backing vocalists that finally gave the group there definitive sound. For anybody who reached their teens during the early eighties the massive hit single "Don't You Want Me" supplies the soundtrack for those years. *****

Comments - This album turns up in droves so you are bound to get a bargain.

Other albums by this artist / group - Travelogue, Hysteria, Love And Dancing, Crash.

27. Journey 'Escape' - If you like your AOR power ballads then look no further. "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Whose Cryin'" are perfect examples of the smooth rock formula that became popular in the early eighties. Former Santana band members Gregg Rolie and Neil Schon formed the group in 1973 and the band have accumulated over 80 million sales worldwide. *****

Comments - Journey shared there huge AOR sales with bands like Reo Speed Wagon and Asia whose albums can also be found in relatively large numbers.

Other albums by these artist / group: Frontiers.

28. Madness 'One Step Beyond' - A product of the 2tone movement of 1979, this album as all the boyish and anarchic energy of large group of fun loving young men embarking on there first recording. ***

Comments - Numerous 7 and 12inch singles were produced by Madness and can often be found for as little as a 1 pound.

Other albums by this artist / group: Divine Madness, Absolutely, Presents The Rise And Fall, Mad Not Mad, Utter Madness.

29. UFO 'Strangers In The Night' - A constant flow of rock bands visited The Victoria Hall, Hanley in the early eighties of which I attended many. A lot of the acts proved disappointing live but UFO exceeded expectation with there superior musicianship and ability to take there studio tracks to an extra level when performed in front of an audience. "Strangers In The Night" is up there with Thin Lizzy's Live And Dangerous as one of the superior live performances captured on record from that era. ***

Comments - Also worth collecting by UFO is a number of Colour vinyl singles, all which can be picked up for as little as a pound.

Other albums by this artist / group: The Wild The Willing And The Innocent, Force It, No Place To Run, Making Contact, Obsession, Mechanix, Lights Out.

30. CAROL KING 'TAPESTRY' - Kings song writing skills are homed to perfection on this album with at least four all time classic tracks "I feel The Earth Move", "So Far Away", "You've Got A Friend" and "Natural Women". Most artists if they are lucky write one great song in there lifetime on this album Carol has left a legacy of standards which will continue to be covered by future artists. ****

Other albums by this artist / group: Songs Of Long Ago.

Comments - Original seventies album comes with a textured sleeve.

31. VAN MORRISON 'INTO THE MUSIC' - Although Morrison's late 60s early seventies output is generally regarded as his most intensely creative period, there are equally rewarding excursions on many of his later albums. Into The Music was released at the height of the Punk revolution and like many of the songwriter albums from that period tends to get lost in the excitement of the new musical revolution. Morrison's mood is perfectly summed up in the title of this album Van at times completely lost in the music he has created and for me the last three tracks are a sublime example of musical creativity. ***

Comments - Unfortunately some of Van Morrison's better albums prove difficult to acquire within our budget, the superb live album "To Late To Stop Now" normally selling for around 10 pounds. Astral Weeks and Moondance were both released as first issues on the Red Warner Bros label and command prices near 100 pounds but many reissues are available sometimes within our budget.

Other Albums by this artist / group: Easier to get within our budget price are Wavelength, Best Of, Inarticulate Speech Of The Heart, Poetic Champions Compose, Beautiful Vision, Live At The Grand Opera House. His first four albums on Warner Brothers can be acquired as reissues but sometimes difficult to find for under a fiver.

32. PRINCE 'PURPLE RAIN' - Although my record collection at the time of this albums release was primarily rock, like legions of others I felt compelled to buy Purple Rain on its release in 1984. The album brims with high octane funk, glittery rock guitar and hooks that most mere human artists would die for. Tracks like Let's Go Crazy, When Doves Cry and Purple Rain are superb songs that stay just on the right side of pomposity. *****

Comments - Look out for the rare purple vinyl version of this album.

Other albums by this artist / group: Love Sexy, Around The World In A Day, Under The Cherry Moon, Batman.

33. WEATHER REPORT 'HEAVY WEATHER' - For those venturing into the world of jazz fusion for the first time then Weather Reports Heavy Weather is a perfect starting point. The album is both accessible and challenging with jazz heavy weights Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul continuing ideas first explored with the Miles Davis group in the late 60s. The albums best known track Birdland as been covered by a number of artists including an acapella version by Manhattan Transfer. ***

Comments -Most albums by Weather Report usually sell for around £5 and above Heavy weather been the exception because of the quantity available.

Other albums by these artist / group: Black Market.

34. Jackson Browne 'Late For The Sky' - This mature and often subtle album with a distinctly American flavor grew out of a thriving US song writing movement. With intelligent lyrics, understated vocals and perfect accompaniment from guitarist David Lindley this album rewards the careful listener. **

Comments. - The title track is featured in Martin Scorcese's film Taxi Driver.

Other albums by this artist / group: Saturate before Using, The Pretender. (These albums are a little more difficult to acquire than the later release Late For The Sky).

35. PETER FRAMPTOM 'FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE' - A reference to the album on the US cult classic Wayne's World confirms Framptom Comes Alive's status in the American rock cannon. The double live album combines radio friendly acoustic ballads with epic guitar anthems all pulled from Frampton's career both solo and with previous band Humble Pie. *****

Comments - This album is famous for Frampton's some say excessive use of the guitar voice box.

Other albums by this artist / group: I'm In You.

36. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN 'BORN IN THE USA' - The multi million seller album is crammed full of stadium rock tracks all performed with 100% commitment by the "Boss" of the US music industry. Although "Born In The USA" has become associated with American patriotism a closer scrutiny of the lyrics present a much bleaker version of US history with abandoned Vietnam heroes and prison gangs populating his stories. *****

Comments - A live box set can also be acquired for around 5 pounds to 10 pounds.

Other albums by this artist / group: The River, Born To Run, Darkness At The Edge Of Town, The Wild The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle, Tunnel Of Love, Lucky Town, Human Touch.

37. PAUL MCCARTNEY 'BAND ON THE RUN' - After two albums under the guise of Wings, MCcartney returned to recording under his own name with an album often regarded as his best work since the Beatles. The album has an uplifting start with the title track and "Jet" and manages maintain its consistency throughout. *****

Comments - Now is probably a good time to mention Beatles releases, with even reissues fetching around 5 pounds and more none of the original releases by the band can be acquired within our budget.

Other albums by this artist / group: McCartney, McCartney II, Ram, Red Rose Speadway, Give My Regards To Broadway Street. Venus And Mars, Wings At The Speed Of Sound, Wings Over America.

38. GARY NUMAN & TUBEWAY ARMY 'REPLICAS' - Tubeway Army's self titled first album was strongly inspired by the punk revolution it was not until there second release "Replicas" that Numan and band members found there real voice. Haunting Synth arrangements and a vocal style heavily influenced by Bowie, combine to make an original sound that richly exploited the technological advances of the day. *****

Comments - Numans most well recognized track "Cars" can be found on his other highly influential album from this period "The Pleasure Principle".

Other albums by this artist / group: Tubeway Army, The Pleasure Principle, Telekon. The bands first album can be a little more difficult to acquire with a blue vinyl version selling for around 40 pounds.

39. THIN LIZZY 'LIVE AND DANGEROUS' - Lizzy's classic studio album Jailbreak with its die cut gatefold sleeve and dynamic artwork came close as my first choice, but for sheer value for money and perhaps one of the greatest live albums in the rock genre "Live And Dangerous slips into pole position. Here already established classics "The Boys Are Back In Town" and"Jailbreak" are infused with a new sense of urgency when given the live treatment. ****

Comments - The double albums earlier issues came in a fully laminated gatefold sleeve.

Other albums by these artists group: Jailbreak, Johnny The Fox, Fighting, Black Rose, Bad Reputation, China Town, Night Life, Renegade.

The Man With Two Hats - How to Be Your Own Editor

You'd have to be crazy to publish a novel without an editor. And by editor, I mean someone who isn't your mother, best friend, or even your English teacher. By editor, I mean someone who knows what they're doing, who picks your work apart so easily that you feel weak-kneed in their presence.

A good editor is someone who makes you feel like they disdain you terribly, and from whom you keep your children away, out of fear that they might suffer the same recrimination. And, if you are lucky enough to find such a person, one who has achieved this state of pure evil, then you must learn to love them with all of your heart.

How exactly do you do this? By getting inside the mind of the editor, learning their tricks, and beating them to the punch.

An editor is a like a personal trainer. They mark your progress, tell you what you're doing wrong, and push you to do better. What they don't do is write your novel, just as a trainer won't lift your weights for you. And if you poke your head into any gym, you'll see that the people who get along best with their trainers are those who are in decent shape themselves.

It can feel unfair when an editor breezes through your book, marking problems, and then handing it back to you. It's not unlike hiring a boss who then in turn demands you do all of their work. The big difference is that you're still the boss. While your editor might make suggestions, you're the one who has to decide if they go into your book or not. After all, it's your name on the cover.

To keep the editing process as frustration-free as possible, it helps if you've already done as much of the editing as you can on your own book. If you're still in love with your novel by the time you hand it off to your editor, then you haven't spent nearly enough time picking it apart. And if you expect that your editor will just fix a few typos and give it the stamp of approval, you haven't even started.

The time to hand over your manuscript is after you have already labored over every word, when you are so ragged, so hopelessly burnt out, that you are ready to crawl across your editor's floor just to beg for their advice.

Being your own editor sounds a lot like being your own worst enemy, but it's not nearly so bad. All you have to do is re-read something you've written, find something you don't like about it, and then jot it into the margin with red ink. Something like, "Description too long," or, "I find myself bored here." Bam! You're an editor.

It's easy to spot a few things that are wrong, but the real trick is to remove yourself so completely from the book that you can see it through someone else's eyes. Someone who hates you.

There are plenty of tricks to help. My personal favorite is reading out loud, preferably to someone else. In fact, just knowing that I'm going to be performing my work usually sends me into an editing flurry.

You can also read your chapters or scenes in a random order, or re-order your novel according to separate individual story lines. While criticism comes naturally to us all, editing is a skill that's developed over years and there are as many different approaches as there are editors. One line editor I know works backward through the entire novel so that they won't get distracted by the story.

Salvador Dali was famous for leaving his paintings alone for long periods of time, then rushing into his studio and turning on the light, hoping to catch a glimpse of them as he'd never seen them before. The same is true when you're editing your own material: your goal is to see past what you intended to write, and see what it is that you actually wrote.

Remember, if you believe you can do no wrong, you'll probably do nothing but. However, if you work to make your writing good (instead of just defending the first stuff you happened to dribble on the page) chances are that you'll end up with something people will enjoy reading. And not just your mother, best friend, or English teacher.

Boy With A Special Pair Of Eyes And Other Poems

By the time you sixteen
You know there is
Something seriously
Gone wrong with me.

Throw me out?
No you cannot.
Motherhood is not what they say
Still, it is all you possess.

So you pray and pray.
A prayer for me:
So that I don't often see
Floats of blue bubbles on the sky.
Or, the dragonfly,
Only friend of mine,
Do not disturb me at night
And entice me to fly.

Night is a time
I could fly:
Soft flakes of dark white
Around my eyes.
Your warm hands of morning
Always bring me down
Only to find, I have become a boy
Whom others call a blind.

An essay on domestic quarrel

See the burning air outside the window,
The reverse swing of a pendulum,
The undulating bows those bear burning birds
See the reflection of your perverse pleasure
At the culling of pregnant clouds
That pleasure is bright on your grate
Where balmy flickers of jungle fire
Is quivering like your soul.
See, what happens when a girl like you
Wraths on a man like me, alone, and defaulter.

A pair of feet

Just now this ancient walkway
Carried those light feet away
Not knowing who she was,
You know, sadness can open
Some abrupt tiers, sub conscious.
It can open your heart, beside
The yellow growth of satanic nicotine.
A pair of petering feet can open many dreams
(Mother for a last time saying "don't go!")
Or
(A casual afire tastes sad in an after taught)

The cold stone of the walkway don't know
Nightmares, it is born under a cold star.

A plot of loneliness

Come near, mischief; play with the air of emptiness
Play with the little kitten that should have been upon this mattress
Kiss at the forehead that would have alighted with bliss
Have a drink from an nonexistent cupboard
Warm your legs by cold logs of barrenwood
Nobody, if nobody comes I'll play alone
With a jigsaw puzzle spread on atmosphere
To complete a house that never was there.

The room within

Have you ever seen the room within!
Amid each and every door
Another opening is there, I can feel.
Within this very floor
Which the ancient lift reaches every now often,
There is another floor, there is.

Brick within brick, structure within structure.
An existence in the cloak of another.
Through it passes the sun
Shadow, there is none
Smoke and smog cannot outline it.
Soul in a soul, brick within brick.
Crawl, float, swim, walk or aviate

This moment I am there, and whoosh- I am not
I know, I am this room; amid, within.

Fire grasps the mall

Fire grasps the mall
A building in the hell.
Two stupid eyes were burnt

Bell ringing fighters, fire in their fatigue
All such incendiary ideas fly
Evaporated was the rebellion.

Flaming bodies were counting their births
How many more till the end of the paths!

All such incendiary ideas cry
Waters of sacred eyes

Had you known this,
You won't have set on
The slow ticking bomb.

An interpretation of history

Your feminine logic made me crying
Eyeing the water you told me again
"Don't you dare go any near
To any shattering war."

Bemused sun fell on the dirt
Like a loose and amateur pasta sauce .
Am I so far from a war?
May be but you should study our good ol' tree
Standing yonder, which has seen
Passes of life and sin
Anyway, the wood was a lousy teacher
Who have learned better than to become
An eloquent speaker.

There I went into fire, upon the bad road,

War was only a speech, interrupted
Shattering peace somehow managed
To go more than any civilization ever can
Less eloquent, with all it's logic so feminine.

Drift

The Beachwood was the last of our merry round
When whim alight, we spent a night
On our salt, deep deep salt and salty salty ground.

Last of our poison, till the death dropped
We drunk and made each other drink
We gnawed and bit
And, there came a time when sun stopped.

Love passed; fight passed and hate passed, too
Now that we have mastered the fine art of looking beyond.

Go to a Festival Prepared With a 4 Man Tent

The 4 man festival tent provides a unique and creative style of tent to be used for outdoor concerts or festivals. This tent is equipped with many features including plenty of room to not only sleep and relax, but the space needed to store all of the necessary camping equipment as well. There are even tents that have connections for electrical hookups already built in to them. This makes a perfect tent for family camping, small groups or for use as a base camp. Vango, Robens and Coleman are three of the top brands when it comes to this kind of tent.

Styles

The most popular and affordable type of tent is the pop-up tent. This is an easy to assemble tent with a single layer and enables very compact storage when not in use. This style is created to simply pop-up into position instantly forming the tent from its flat folded shape. The tent is available in many bright colors and styles. The material used is extremely breathable making for a well ventilated interior. In addition, the dome tent designed for 8 will also brings extra comfort and ability to handle a variety of needs. Tunnel tents can be spacious and accommodate various uses. The main area of the tent has a general area for living as well as a separate bedroom space.

Optional uses for a tent:

Tents can provide an excellent way of creating extra space when having a sleepover. They can provide a fun and creative room that is easily set up out in the yard.

Pros and Cons:

A tent can certainly be a good investment. Not only is it easy to set-up, but it can be moved from one place to another very quickly and easily. The fabric used is typically earth friendly; however, there are some models, such as those with only a single thickness which would not be very effective for use in harsh conditions, it would also not help with condensation problems.

Choosing a tent:

Pros and Cons:

One of the main things that needs to be considered when choosing a tent is its size. Also, the amount of time that you will actually be inside of the tent should be another consideration. It is very important that the interior height is high enough to comfortably stand up in. Most of all, proper ventilation inside the tent is essential.

So, the 4 man festival tent is often considered one of the most useful and practical tents and well worth the money invested.
